Fish Stew Tuesday

My Ingredients are ready to go in the pot. Yes.... I do have a hot pink cutting board.

Another view

The finished product is ready to be served. Mr. Foodie insisted on serving it over rice, so he whipped up a batch of Basmati to serve the fish stew over. I love the way Basmati smells while you cook it.

Tuesday

Our latest purchase arrived in the mail yesterday from West Elm. Mr. Foodie hung it on the wall before I got home from work in the bedroom. It looks great. The frame is much larger in person. We are now picking out a new color to paint our bedroom. Mr. Foodie wants a darker blue color, so I am probably going to give in on this one considering her let me paint my kitchen purple... We are slowly making the house look a little better. I am also on the hunt for rugs. Rugs are expensive and I can never find what I like. I find this very frustrating.

Going to see Julia & Julia some time this week which is exciting. I'll review the movie here once I see it. Also be on the lookout for a review of the Fish Stew I posted about a few days ago.

Whisk Necklace

I purchased this necklace from ExoDesign on Etsy.com. I absolutely love this necklace. It is exquisitely crafted and everyone loves it. I highly encourage everyone to check out her shop for beautiful handmade jewelry with a modern twist.

Cupcakes to die for...

I made the cupcake recipe below on Saturday for a dinner party hosted by our lovely friends. They were spectacular and I will definitely be making them again. What a hit!

I topped the cupcakes with Chocolate Buttercream Icing, also courtesy of Williams-Sonoma.

Saturday Morning

Good morning everyone! My Saturday mornings are usually filled with household tasks like laundry and cleaning, and grocery shopping. Mr. Foodie works almost every weekend so I am always here at home missing him desperately. Tonight we are having a dinner party with our friends, the hostess is making roast beef for the first time. I applaud her efforts, and can't wait to try it out. I volunteered to bring dessert. I am going to make chocolate cupcakes using a Williams-Sonoma recipe, with Chocolate Buttercream frosting. This is the best of both worlds: Cupcakes are compact and easy, and I get to practice my decorating skills with the frosting. I haven't mentioned this before, but I have taken cake decorating classes and I love to use them whenever I can.

I am also doing my meal planning for the rest of the week. I have been browsing my new favorite recipe blog, Simply Recipes. This is such as great site. The photographs are beautiful and the recipes are easy to understand. In addition, the blog author provides little anecdotes about her family and history. I have decided to make these two recipes:

Dad's Fish Stew
&
Stuffed Zucchini with Turkey Sausage

These are both easy weeknight dishes that are health any taste great. I will review them this week once I make them, and may even remember to take photographs.

Just for fun.... below is a picture of us on our Honeymoon in the British Virgin Islands
